2nd    Buffalo Without Borders

This event of international proportions features and celebrates Buffalo’s great diversity. More than 30 immigrant, refugee, and ethnic businesses will be featured offering delicious food and unique gift items. Buffalo Without Borders features vendors representing cultures from nearby Canada to far flung Burma and everything in between! Since 2010, Buffalo Without Borders has grown tremendously and sells out each year. It’s the only place in Buffalo to enjoy food, entertainment and artisan goods from all over the world in just one night. This year’s event is from 6-9pm.

Join the wineries for wine tasting, while supporting charities. This is the Niagara Wine Trail's annual charitable event to benefit our food banks, food pantries and charities. Enjoy spectacular fireworks over Niagara Falls EVERY FRIDAY at 9pm until January 26, 2018!  NIGHTLY FIREWORKS will show every evening December 23rd-29th at 9pm and New Years Eve, Dec. 31st at midnight. Fireworks schedule is subject to change.  Fireworks performances are weather permitting and may be cancelled due to poor weather conditions.

23rd     Annual YMCA Turkey Trot

Known to be the oldest consecutively run footrace in North America, the YMCA Turkey Trot is an 8K (4.97 mile) Thanksgiving Day tradition that attracts over 14,000 runners of all ages and abilities to the City of Buffalo each year. To add to the excitement, many participants also choose to run in costumes. Proceeds benefit the YMCA Buffalo Niagara programs and services. See what the "loco-motion" is all about! The Buffalo History Museum’s annual family event, “Train Day,” is a popular holiday tradition that includes a tour of the 1900s replica model trains, artifact scavenger hunts, train-themed crafts, and new this year, letters to Santa for “train delivery.”  Live music by Rail Barons Band is also featured.

Throughout the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday event, activities will include Christmas carolers, a live reindeer, breakfast with Santa, horse-drawn carriage rides, interactive children’s activities as well as Fire Truck rides with Santa, and it’s all FREE!! The night transforms this village into a winter wonderland as the shops, restaurants and the village Christmas tree are lit in white. One of the best ways to describe the downtown of Ellicottville has been as something Norman Rockwell would have conjured up. Drive through the all new light displays from North Pole Productions! Stroll the illuminated street and explore each of the buildings for unique holiday activities, shows, and more. Climb aboard the Express Train and take a short train ride around the Festival grounds. Kids can stop in to the TOPS Winterland Workshop to make a craft. The centerpiece of the Festival of Lights is the North Pole Experience. This ten thousand square foot walk through adventure leads guests through the North Pole and right to Santa’s front porch. This day is dedicated to shopping at small businesses. Instead of hitting up Amazon, or Target, we should all be thinking about which small businesses we want to support this holiday season. Our retailers are feeling the pinch these days, because online shopping has become a new way of life for so many people. If we don't support our small businesses, some day may may not have that option. So, don't just shop small/private businesses on Nov. 25th, but all year through.

The historic Forest Lawn Chapel is transformed into a festively decorated live theatre for the critically acclaimed original production of "It WAS a Wonderful Life". The narrator, John Lay – the first person to take up permanent residence at Forest Lawn, in 1850 – will introduce several of the new friends he’s made over the last 164 years at Forest Lawn. They, in turn, will create musical, comical and poignant glimpses of Christmases past, when they enjoyed life on this side of the lawn. Spend a little time in Bedford Falls this holiday season by being a part of the studio audience at WBFR's 1946 Christmas Eve radio broadcast of It's a Wonderful Life (based on the Frank Capra movie). Five actors and a foley artist perform all the voices, music, singing, and sound effects from the most beloved Christmas movie of all time: the story of George Bailey, a young dreamer who will mortgage his last dream for the smaller hopes and needs of his neighbors and friends, and Clarence, George's 292-year-old guardian angel who will help him discover that "no man is a failure who has friends."
